Heba helmi

Heba Helmi works across ceramics, painting, and writing, bringing together material, image, and language. She maintains a workshop in Tunis Village in Fayoum – one of Egypt’s important centres of pottery – where she explores clay through a process shaped by both tradition and experimentation. Her pieces often draw on Islamic techniques and incorporate subtle traces of Arabic calligraphy, where words and forms merge. Beneath their surface, they carry layered narratives – personal, cultural, and at times shaped by the memory of the 2011 revolution.
